What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files that a website can store in your browser, typically used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, or measure how a site is used. “Similar technologies” refers to comparable mechanisms such as local storage.

What InfraLex Currently Uses

If you register for or sign in to an InfraLex Member account, the Service sets a strictly necessary authentication cookie so it can recognize you as signed in as you move between pages. This cookie is issued only when you sign in and is required for account-based features (such as saved items and plan-specific access) to work; it is not set for, and has no effect on, visitors browsing the public website without an account.

InfraLex’s content-management system, which InfraLex personnel use to log in and maintain the website’s content, separately uses its own strictly necessary authentication cookie to keep an administrator signed in. This is a distinct cookie from the Member authentication cookie described above, issued only when someone logs into InfraLex’s administrative system; it is not set for, and does not affect, ordinary visitors or Members.

What InfraLex Does Not Currently Use

InfraLex does not currently use analytics cookies, advertising or marketing cookies, or any third-party tracking technology on the public website. This notice reflects the technology actually in use as of the date at the top of this page; it is not a general statement that InfraLex will never use cookies for any purpose.

Future Changes

If InfraLex introduces features that require additional cookies — for example, in connection with payment processing once paid checkout becomes available — this notice will be updated in advance to describe them accurately, and, where applicable law requires it, an appropriate consent mechanism will be introduced at that time.
