Editorial Policy

1. Purpose & Scope

This Editorial Policy explains the distinction between InfraLex’s structured database records and its editorial analysis, the principles that govern how each is produced, and how InfraLex handles sourcing, verification, corrections, and editorial independence. It applies to all content published on InfraLex, whether authored by InfraLex’s own editorial team or, in the future, by third-party contributors.

2. Structured Data

InfraLex’s structured database — its records on infrastructure projects, markets, organizations, market participants, laws and regulations, and documents — is built from identified source material and curated through InfraLex’s editorial processes. InfraLex does not use generative AI to create or invent information presented as part of its structured database.

3. Human-Authored Editorial Analysis

InfraLex Insights — its editorial analysis, explainers, and market notes — are separate from its structured database records and are clearly identified as editorial content. InfraLex editorial articles and analysis are authored and reviewed by human contributors and editors. InfraLex may use software or AI-assisted tools for limited ancillary internal workflow purposes, but reader-facing editorial analysis and conclusions are human-authored and subject to human editorial review.

4. Source Selection

Structured records and editorial analysis are built from identifiable sources, which may include official and government publications, primary legal texts, project and transaction documentation, organization and market participant disclosures, and other credible public or professional material.

5. Preference for Primary Sources

Where a primary or official source is reasonably available — such as the official text of a law or regulation, or a primary project or organizational disclosure — InfraLex prefers that source over secondary commentary or reporting, and structures its records to reflect what the primary source actually establishes.

6. Verification & Editorial Review

InfraLex applies verification and editorial review processes to records and editorial content before publication and as part of ongoing maintenance, with the aim of checking that information is reasonably supported by identified source material and that editorial analysis is clearly distinguished from underlying factual or structured data.

7. Dates & Currency of Information

Infrastructure markets, projects, and legal frameworks change over time. Structured records and editorial content reflect InfraLex’s understanding as of the date they were last reviewed or published; they are not necessarily updated in real time as circumstances change, and users should treat older content accordingly. 8. Corrections & Updates

InfraLex distinguishes between different kinds of corrections:

• minor typographical, formatting, or other non-substantive edits may be corrected without a public correction note;
• structured factual records are updated as facts change or as better source material becomes available, as part of InfraLex’s ordinary maintenance of its database;
• material editorial errors — errors that affect the substance of an analysis or conclusion — are corrected and, where appropriate, accompanied by a visible correction or update note on the affected content; and
• requests for correction or removal are reviewed on their merits; they are not automatically accepted, and InfraLex may decline a request where it does not consider a correction to be warranted.

9. Contributor Submissions

InfraLex does not currently operate a public contributor submission portal. Where InfraLex introduces one, contributor-submitted material will be attributed to the contributor as its author, but will not become part of InfraLex until it has gone through the editorial process described in Section 10.

10. Editorial Approval Before Publication

No content submitted by a third-party contributor is published merely because it was submitted or written. All contributor material is subject to review by InfraLex editorial staff and requires editorial approval before it is published, following the same review and sourcing principles that apply to InfraLex’s own editorial team.

11. Editorial Independence

Editorial conclusions published on InfraLex are determined by InfraLex’s editorial process, not by the commercial interests of any organization or market participant referenced or featured on the platform.

12. Commercial Relationships & Conflicts

A commercial relationship, a paid profile or listing — including an Enhanced Commercial Profile under InfraLex’s Presence product — a partnership, or any other commercial arrangement, whether existing now or entered into in the future, does not purchase or control InfraLex’s editorial conclusions. Editorial content is not written or altered to favour a commercial counterparty.

Specifically, a market participant’s commercial profile information — its own description of its services, capabilities, credentials, and selected experience — is distinct from, and does not control, InfraLex’s own independent classifications and the InfraLex Ecosystem Footprint (the participant’s InfraLex-tracked markets, sectors, and infrastructure relationships). A participant cannot purchase inclusion in, or alteration of, InfraLex’s independent ecosystem intelligence about it.

13. Sponsored Content

InfraLex does not currently publish sponsored editorial content. If InfraLex introduces sponsored content in the future, it will be clearly and conspicuously labelled as sponsored or commercial content, distinguishing it from InfraLex’s independent editorial analysis.

14. Inclusion Is Not Endorsement

The inclusion of an organization or market participant in InfraLex’s structured data reflects its identification as relevant to a market, sector, project, capability, or other category covered by InfraLex. It is not an endorsement, recommendation, or verification of that organization or market participant. See also our Disclaimer.

15. Attribution & Bylines

Editorial content published on InfraLex carries a byline identifying its author or authors, which may be an individual named author, a named contributor, or InfraLex’s editorial team writing collectively as “InfraLex Editorial”. Bylines reflect authorship as it stood at the time of publication and remain on content even if the named author is no longer an active InfraLex contributor.

16. Requests for Correction or Review

Requests to correct or review InfraLex content can be submitted through the Corrections / data issues or Editorial enquiries category on our Contact page, or by email to editorial@infralex.co. Requests are reviewed in accordance with Section 8 above.
