A proposed 40km causeway linking Bahrain and Qatar, reviving a long-stalled project after 2022 diplomatic normalisation. Dar Al-Handasah was awarded a ~$7.7 million (QR28m) contract in December 2025 for financial, economic, social and environmental feasibility studies; KBR (with Halcrow/Jacobs support) serves as project management consultant. Planned as a dual two-lane highway with a rail component linking to the wider GCC rail network.
