Overview

Location
North West England / North Wales border
Scale / Scope
Track-1 hydrogen/CCUS cluster status held since 2021. As of this cut-off, HyNet is competing directly against the East Coast Cluster for a single government-funded regional hydrogen-network slot (£500m) in a 2026 allocation round whose outcome and exact decision date are not yet public. Included as Tier C market-architecture context, not as a confirmed-funded transaction — its unresolved status is the entire reason for its inclusion.
