Kenya is advancing a major expansion and modernisation of the existing Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, including a new terminal and airside/landside/supporting-infrastructure upgrades intended to materially increase annual passenger capacity. A June 2026 agreement with China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), valued at approximately USD 1.2 billion / KES 154.2 billion, and financing arrangements involving the Trade and Development Bank (TDB) and Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) were reported, but financing completion and construction commencement were not established by the reviewed official sources.
