Following Mawani's award of a 20-year BOT-style concession to Saudi Global Ports (via Modern Port Services Company) as part of an 8-port, SAR 2.2bn multipurpose-terminal programme, container terminal operations at Jubail Commercial Port commenced 1 April 2026 — quay extended to 1,400m, capacity increased from 1.5M to 2.4M TEU/year.
