Project
Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port
A strategic deep-water port on Boubyan Island, part of Kuwait Vision 2035 and China's Belt and Road Initiative. Phase 1 quay structures and backland reclamation were completed in 2014, but the broader project was long-stalled. Kuwait's Ministry of Public Works (signed by Minister Dr. Noura Mohammed Al-Mashaan) and China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC, signed by Vice President Chen Zhong) signed an EPC contract for Phase One in December 2025, valued at KD1.219 billion (~$4.1 billion), targeting full operation by the end of 2026.
