Egypt High-Speed Rail Line 1 nears trial operations

Egypt's Transport Minister inspected final finishing and preparations along the 660km first high-speed rail line on 6 September 2026, with trial operations for the line expected before the end of 2026.

Suez Wind Farm reaches financial close

Egypt amends Desert Land Law to permit foreign ownership

Law No. 11 of 2024, issued 24 February 2024, amended Articles 11 and 12 of the Desert Land Law (Law 143/1981) to permit non-Egyptian ownership of desert land without restriction, except in the Sinai Peninsula, which remains separately restricted.

Egypt expands Investment Law Golden License programme

Law No. 160 of 2023, ratified in July 2023 (exact day not independently confirmed), expanded the Golden License single-approval regime under the Investment Law, with Executive Regulations subsequently amended by Decree No. 1203 of 2024.
