Investment Law No. 72 of 2017
Egypt's principal statutory framework for domestic and foreign investment, establishing investor protections, investment incentives, investment and free-zone regimes, and administrative mechanisms for investment projects. The law addresses matters including investor treatment, protection against expropriation and arbitrary State intervention, transfer and repatriation of investment-related funds, investment incentives and project establishment. Infrastructure investors remain subject to applicable sector-specific, corporate, licensing, environmental, land and foreign-exchange requirements.
