Contributor Editorial Guidelines
The standards InfraLex applies to Contributor Insights — articles written by infrastructure professionals and published on InfraLex after editorial review.
Last updated: October 20, 2026
1. Purpose
Contributor Insights bring the experience of practitioners across the infrastructure sector to InfraLex readers. These guidelines explain what InfraLex looks for in a contribution and how contributions are reviewed. They apply alongside the InfraLex Editorial Policy. To find out how to contribute, see Contribute to InfraLex.
2. Who May Contribute
InfraLex welcomes contributions from professionals with relevant infrastructure experience or expertise — for example, project finance and investment professionals, developers and sponsors, EPC and construction professionals, O&M and asset-management professionals, engineers and technical advisers, consultants, lawyers, academics, public-sector and PPP professionals, and other specialists with substantive infrastructure expertise. This list is illustrative.
To submit, a contributor needs a verified InfraLex account and a completed professional profile. A contributor’s role or job title does not guarantee that a submission will be accepted: each contribution is assessed on its own merits.
3. Subject Scope
Contributions should have a genuine infrastructure nexus. Relevant subjects include, for example:
- infrastructure projects, investment and transactions;
- project finance, financing and risk allocation;
- PPPs and concessions;
- law, regulation and procurement;
- construction and EPC;
- operations and asset management;
- energy and utilities, transport, and digital and social infrastructure;
- material market developments.
InfraLex does not publish contributions whose principal purpose is advertising, company or product promotion, the republication of press releases, generic search-engine content or superficial news summaries.
4. Article Length
The normal range for a Contributor Insight is 800–3,000 words.
- Articles of fewer than 800 words cannot be submitted.
- Articles of 3,001–5,000 words may be submitted, but fall outside the normal range and may be subject to editorial discretion.
- Articles of more than 5,000 words cannot be submitted through the contributor workflow.
5. Originality & Rights
A submission should be the contributor’s original work, or be submitted with the rights and authority needed to submit it. Contributors must have the right to submit all of the material in their submission. You keep ownership of your article; the licence you grant InfraLex to review and, if accepted, publish it is set out in Section 10 of our Terms of Use.
6. Attribution & References
Where a submission quotes, paraphrases or draws materially on another person's work, the original author and source must be appropriately identified and cited.
Contributors can list the sources they relied on as references, each with an optional link. No particular citation style is required.
7. Accuracy
Contributors are responsible for the factual accuracy of their submission and should take reasonable care that it is accurate and not misleading, identifying sources where appropriate.
8. AI-Assisted Work
Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality and integrity of their submission, including where AI-assisted tools have been used in preparing it.
9. Confidentiality & Professional Duties
Contributors must not submit material that breaches confidentiality, discloses privileged information without authority, conflicts with their professional duties, or includes information they are not entitled to publish.
10. Conflicts & Material Interests
Contributors are expected to disclose to InfraLex any professional, financial or commercial interest that may be relevant to the subject of their submission. If you have a professional, financial or commercial interest relevant to your submission, please disclose it to the InfraLex editorial team at editorial@infralex.co.
That disclosure is made privately to the InfraLex editorial team and is not published automatically. Where InfraLex considers it appropriate, a published Contributor Insight may carry a public disclosure statement determined through editorial review.
11. Editorial Review & Control
Every submission is reviewed by the InfraLex editorial team before publication. InfraLex may accept or reject a submission, request revisions, and edit for clarity, consistency, formatting and house style, including correcting errors.
12. Publication Discretion
Submission does not guarantee publication. InfraLex decides whether, when and in what form a contribution is published, and may decline publication. Approval of a submission does not necessarily mean immediate publication.
You may withdraw a submission before it is published by contacting the editorial team; requests to remove or amend a published article are handled as described in the Terms of Use.
13. Commercial & Editorial Independence
Contributing does not require a paid InfraLex subscription. Subscription status does not buy publication, editorial coverage, ranking or prominence, and company participation on InfraLex is free. Commercial relationships with InfraLex do not determine whether a contribution is accepted or how it is presented.
14. Author Information
A published Contributor Insight identifies its author using the professional information in the contributor’s profile at the time of submission: name, professional title, organisation, country, professional bio and, if provided, a LinkedIn profile. Later changes to the contributor’s account profile do not automatically change a published article. Author information is self-reported and is not verified or endorsed by InfraLex. How InfraLex handles contributor information is described in our Privacy Notice.
15. Contributor Insight Disclaimer
Every published Contributor Insight carries the following statement:
Contributor Insight. This article reflects the views of its author, not those of InfraLex. Publication on InfraLex does not imply endorsement of the views expressed. It is provided for information only and is not legal, financial or investment advice.
